A Day Older; Hopefully a Day Wiser

As I click on the computer calendar preparing to scribe this digital missive, aka the Week-Ender blog, I realize with a slight jolt that I will be turning another day older today; well, actually, another year older–happy birthday to me. It is assumed that as one gets older, one gets wiser as well.  I suppose that varies with each individual, but generally, each minute we survive on this earth we have presumably learned something new.  Thus, each day we should … Continue reading

The ability to cope.

Axioms are not … Continue reading

Stories from the past.

Another holiday season recently came to an end. If your family is anything like mine, there were plenty of “tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago,” as the song says. Lord, we have such colorful characters in our family circles and those stories that come up at the kitchen table or dining room table are always hysterical, aren’t they? The best part is that these people never even know how funny they are. They tell the stories and are almost surprised at … Continue reading

Stamford, Conn.–Keep America Beautiful (KAB) and The Coca-Cola Foundation announced a call for applications for the 2014 Coca-Cola/KAB Recycling Bin Grant Program, a program designed to expand and support recycling in communities across America. The Coca-Cola/KAB Recycling Bin Grant Program is funded through a $350,000 grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Coca-Cola Company. Since 2010, more than 34,000 recycling bins have been distributed through the Coca-Cola/KAB Recycling Bin Grant Program. In the past six years, 4.4 … Continue reading
