Make Partnerships Possible

It’s 9:00 a.m. on a Monday. You have just returned from vacation and haven’t touched your day-planner in a week. Your voice mail reports 18 new messages, and the inbox on your desk is stacked so high it looks like a model of the Sears Tower. Then you receive a call from your boss: “We’re going to need at least $25,000 in sponsorship money for the upcoming festival!” You panic and break into a sweat. You were supposed to create … Continue reading

Ain’t Too Proud To Brag

I am an American citizen. I may get a little confused when I tell the stories of my country–like James Madison’s role in writing the Constitution or exactly what is provided for in the Bill of Rights–but I know what those documents mean. It’s one of the scariest numbers I’ve seen. And it’s a problem that’s not going away anytime soon. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) recently came out with a study–“What Sport Means in America: A Study of Sport’s Role in Society”–and some of the numbers certainly have my attention. And … Continue reading

This-N-That

Take Notice Of The Tagline I enjoyed reading the “Long-Winded Debate” in the July issue of PRB. What really caught my eye was the [title of the column] LBWA–Leadership By Wandering Around. I really like this tag and I have the same philosophy in my managing techniques but have not named it, so I am asking permission to use your tag line—it’s catchy and I think it represents me well and I would like to use it from time to … Continue reading
