Williams Architects Announces Kmiecik’s Retirement

Carol Stream, Ill.–Williams Architects Ltd. announces the retirement of Vice President Lawrence (Larry) M. Kmiecik after 28 years of service. He will remain a consultant. Kmiecik joined the firm in 1981 and became a Principal in 2002. Throughout his tenure, he served as chief architect and managed all MIS functions. Of all of his experiences, Kmiecik is especially proud of his work with founding Principal Michael T. Williams who passed away in 2009.

During his career Kmiecik designed many prize-winning facilities including the Glenview Park District’s Park Center which won the 2001 Illinois Park and Recreation Association Outstanding Facility and Parks Award, 2001 American Institute of Architects Northeast Illinois Chapter Excellence Award and the 2002 Chicago Building Congress First Place Merit Award for New Construction/Suburbs.


STMA Recognizes STA As First Affiliate

Lawrence, Kan.–The Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) is recognizing its first International Affiliate Organization, the Sports Turf Association (STA) headquartered in Guelph, ON, Canada. The STA was formed in 1987 to promote better, safer sports turf through innovation, education and professional programs. STA and STMA will collaborate and share information and educational resources.

Turface Web Site Specific To Products, Education

Buffalo Grove, Ill.–Turface Athletics has launched a new Web site specific to Turface Athletics’ products. Key sections of the site are separated into three areas: products, sports field solutions and education. Groundskeepers, field managers, coaches and volunteers will find specific field solutions on rainout prevention, infield maintenance, infield construction, turf maintenance and turf construction. Keiser eCampus Rolls Out 2010 Class Schedule

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.–Keiser University eCampus announces its 2010 class schedule for students interested in enrolling in the Associate of Science, two-year Aquatic Engineering degree program which is available through its eCampus online degree program center.
