The History Of You And Me

I am pledging to write at least 500 words each day about my history; in a year I will have written 182,500 words. Considering this Week-Ender you are reading is about 800 words, I should have a book done 12 months from now.

OK, here goes…

“My name is Randy Louis Gaddo; I was born on February 21 amidst the heaviest snowstorm of the year in central Wisconsin, in the Year of our Lord…”… sorry, Week-Ender, you’ll have to wait for the movie to find out the rest…

Randy Gaddo, a retired Marine who also served for 15 years in municipal parks and recreation, is now a full-time photojournalist who lives in Peachtree City, Ga.; he can be reached at (678) 350-8642 or email

Great idea. My youngest brother, Bob is the new family historian. He took over the reigns from my Dad’s cousin Florence. He has brought the Irish side of our family into the digital age. He has scanned the pics, gotten the oral histories before many of the senior family members before they died and has documented all of this for our children. What a great high school or college graduation gift to be gifted with the history of our family roots in a huge binder from Tipperary, Ireland to America. It was my daughter, Katelynn’s favorite gift.
