A series of national field hearings and public forums that could impact the future of park trails is being held this month across the country.
The meetings are being held to gather public input for the long-term reauthorization of the national Surface Transportation Program, which includes bike and pedestrian trails, equestrian trails, safe school routes, and boating safety and law enforcement.
Anyone concerned about the future of public surface transportation should make it a point to attend one of these meetings or submit testimony for the record.
Upcoming forums and hearings will be held on the following dates:
Feb. 17 — Philadelphia
Feb. 18 — Scranton, PA
Feb. 18 — Rochester, NY
Feb. 19 — Columbus, OH
Feb. 19 — Indianapolis
Feb. 20 — Chicago
Feb. 21 — Vancouver, WA
Feb. 22 — Fresno, CA
Feb. 23 — Los Angeles
Feb. 24 — Oklahoma City
Feb. 24 — Jonesboro, AR
Feb. 25 — Memphis, TN
