Leafsnap App

When you’re out in the woods and come across an unfamiliar type of tree, you can satisfy your curiosity in a snap — with the new iPhone Leafsnap app.

This new free tree field guide for your phone was created with the help of Columbia University, the University of Maryland and the Smithsonian Institution.

Just snap a photo of a leaf, and the app will search the database to identify it.
