Jerome: I think participation trophies are good for kids under the age of 8, but after that a trophy needs to be earned. The preschool kids love the medals and other rewards they get, but as the kids get older, those things lose their luster unless they are earned. The other problem with giving trophies to everyone is that organizations sometimes don’t have enough money in their budgets to cover the costs.
