Dancing through the Decades

The City of Miami Beach is “dancing through the decades” as they celebrate the 70th Annual Playground Revue.  This year’s production will highlight the most acclaimed musicals of recent and past years.  Playground Revue is an old-time favorite and a highlight for the summer; it’s a showcase of dances performed by children that attend Miami Beach Parks and Recreation day camp programs.

An ensemble of nearly 700 campers in grades 4th through 12th from the Scott Rakow Youth Center, 21st Recreation Center, Fairway Park and North Shore Park Youth Center will perform songs from the decades, such as “Twist and Shout”, ‘Last Dance”, “Shake Your Groove Thing” and “Gangham Style” just to name a few. To add to the fun, the Miami Beach Parks & Recreation will perform their very own “Grand Finale,” with a mix of campers of various facilities. The show will take place at the Fillmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 beginning promptly at 7:00 pm.

We have combined a second night of entertainment as pee-wee and primer campers in grades K through 3rd from Muss Park, Flamingo Park and North Shore Park Youth Center will dance the night away at the North Shore Park Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave. on Thursday, July 18th at 7:00 PM.
