Company Earns Environmental Honor

International turf maintenance equipment manufacturer Jacobsen has received the 2011 Environmental Excellence Gold Award from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department.

This award honors companies for environmental excellence in protecting the North Carolina community’s water quality.

Environmental Excellence Award winners have complied with their pollution discharge requirements, cooperated fully with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities and exhibited a proactive and innovative approach to protecting water quality.

Chris Wissinger, Jacobsen’s facilities manager commented, “Jacobsen is committed to protecting our environment and operating as a responsible corporate citizen of Charlotte-Mecklenburg. We have won the Environmental Excellence Silver Award in years past, so to win the Gold Award this year is confirmation that we are making the right decisions to effectively manage our environmental impact.

“We are really proud of the job our employees have been doing and intend to continually improve our processes to exceed standards for environmental management.”
