Round Rock Plaza Dedication Ceremony

Round Rock, Texas, Mayor Alan McGraw and members of the Round Rock City Council will officially rededicate the Main Street Plaza to former Parks and Recreation Director Sharon Prete during a ribbon-cutting and sign-unveiling ceremony  at 6 p.m. July 26.

Light refreshments will be served.

A new sign has been fabricated and installed in the Main Street Plaza to honor Prete, former Round Rock Parks and Recreation Director and creator of the People and Parks Fund administered through the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation.

Prete served the City of Round Rock for more than 25 years.

After the official ceremony, the official name of the Plaza will be the Sharon Prete Main Street Plaza.

The Sharon Prete Main Street Plaza was completed at the end of summer 2011 and opened to the public in early October. The 14,000-square-foot Main Street Plaza includes a 610-square-foot performance stage, 1,075-square-foot interactive water feature, built-in seating with decorative lighting, 4,000 square feet of grass seating and lounge area, custom shade structure, custom art panels and a state-of-the-art multifunctional lighting system.
