We all know that a rooftop garden can act as a great building insulator, filter air pollution, and mitigate stormwater runoff.
But studies are now showing that a green roof can also improve the efficiency of solar panels.
Vegetation cools the air around it, which improves the efficiency of solar panels. One study, by Bronx Design and Construction Academy, finds that green roofs lead to as much as 3 percent higher efficiency rates for solar panels installed nearby.
