Floura Staff Receive LEED Certification

Four Floura Teeter Landscape Architects (FTLA) team members recently received their LEED Green Associate certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Jeremy Frederick, Nicole Reedy, Alex Michael Smith and Zachary Baier all passed the two-hour test, which is comprised of 100 randomly generated questions, to earn their certifications.

According to the USGBC website, credential holders “have a deep understanding of the most current green building principles and practices, and show a clear commitment to professional growth in the field.”

Named a “green roof guru” by The Baltimore Sun’s b free daily, registered landscape architect Frederick spearheads FTLA’s work with green roof technologies, and since joining FTLA in 2006 has worked on a number of vegetative roof projects, including the Baltimore Convention Center, the Hummelstown Library and The Baltimore Station. Landscape designer Reedy has more than six years experience in landscape design, all at FTLA where she has worked on notable projects including 520 Park Avenue, Maryland’s Intercounty Connector and the I-95 at Contee Road Interchange. Smith and Baier both joined the FTLA team in 2012, and have contributed to projects including Preston Gardens, Henderson Hopkins School and the Howard Street/Martin Luther King Boulevard Interchange in Baltimore City.

All four of the newly-certified LEED Green Associates are graduates of the Pennsylvania State University.

FTLA president and founder Joan Floura says, “We couldn’t be more proud of Jeremy, Nicole, Alex and Zach for achieving this certification. Not only does this certification reflect their dedication to their profession, but it also enhances FTLA’s qualifications and value to our clients.”
