CULTEC Sponsors St. Jude Walk

For the second year, Brookfield, Conn.-based CULTEC, Inc., manufacturer of stormwater management chambers, will sponsor the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk™ on Saturday, November 17, at the Hartford Holiday Light Fantasia, 1130 Maple Ave., Hartford, Conn.

The Hartford St. Jude Give thanks. Walk is one of 90 events taking place in communities across the country that day to help kids battling cancer and other deadly diseases.

The noncompetitive 5K is an annual fundraiser that serves as the official kick-off event for the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign.

“For every child treated at St. Jude, thousands more have been saved worldwide through the hospital’s research discoveries,” said Jill Workman, New England Regional Director at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“Thanks to the generosity of companies like CULTEC, St. Jude is able to provide excellent care and consistently support children who are facing a life-threatening diagnosis.”

“CULTEC sponsored and participated in this event last year and it was such a great experience that we are thrilled to be doing it again,” said Gina Carolan, CULTEC’s Chief Operating Officer and Director of Marketing.

“All of us are just so moved by the inspirational stories of the precious kids treated at St. Jude’s. This is just one small way that we can help make a difference.”

Although St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has helped push overall U.S. survival rates from 20 to 80 percent, pediatric cancer remains the leading cause of death due to disease among U.S. children older than one.

Donor dollars will help ensure that the hospital’s research and lifesaving treatments continue to save countless lives in Hartford and beyond.

To make a donation online, join the walk, or for more information, visit CULTEC’s Walk page, www.gtw.stjude.org/cultec and help the fight against childhood cancer. Donations may also be dropped off at CULTEC’s offices located at 878 Federal Road in Brookfield, CT. Please call 203-775-4416 for additional information.
