The Best Weekend Ever

By chance, the last piece of paper I pulled out of our cardboard box asked, “What have you done with Steve Maguire’s body?” That brought down the house.

Steve, as I mentioned, is alive and well and feeling sad that he missed Directors’ Camp 2011.

We’ll all be back in 2012, of course. But if you, like Steve, missed our event this time around, consider my challenge to protect some time this month to unplug, unwind and introspect.

As a first-time participant, I wasn’t sure what to expect and was even a little nervous as I arrived. But the weekend was FABULOUS! I really enjoyed meeting other directors and learning about different camps. It was nice to be able to share stories, frustrations and compare experiences with other camp professionals. A great weekend!

Fantastic Weekend! Thanks to Chris, Scott, and all the folks who came. And best to Steve and his family.

This was my first time at Director’s Camp and it was wonderful to experience the “New Camper Feelings.” New surroundings, people, rules, schedule etc. The weekend was expertly executed and left me feeling re-energized, inspired, and thankful to be a camp director. I realized recently that I left my green Marmot PreCip rain jacket at camp so…I have to go back next year!
