Looking for a fun activity to get your kids outside and off the couch? Take them to Junior Anglers of Ohio May 4-6 at 4H Camp Ohio!
It’s a great value–only $40 per youth for the entire weekend’s activities (including food and lodging)!
The Junior Anglers program is a three-day event for all youth ages 8 to 17 who desire to learn more about fishing, conservation, water safety, and outdoor activities.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday and lasts through 5 p.m. Sunday.
Youth receive instruction in spin casting, fly rod casting, lure making, fly tying, and more. There are fishing opportunities in the two camp ponds.
Advanced youth will also learn fly-fishing on a stream, canoeing, and boat handling. Youth can return a fifth year to build a rod or as a Junior Instructor.
The cost of each three-day outdoor education experience is $40 per youth, $75 per adult, which includes the program, lodging and meals for the weekend. Each youth attending must have an adult sponsor, typically (but not limited to) a parent or grandparent, who attends classes in the program with each youth. Adults attending the program may sponsor up to three youths.
Program information and registration forms are available online at www.ohwf.org, keywords “Youth Events” or write or call our office for more details.
