Snack Laws Help Keep Kids Fit

In the battle against childhood obesity, laws restricting snacks and sugary drinks in schools can make a difference, according to a study published in the journal “Pediatrics.”

Healthy options keep school kids fit. reports that the study showed that laws implemented a decade ago to restrict snack and drink sales outside of school lunch programs have helped keep kids from gaining extra pounds.

The most effective laws have very specific guidelines for food sold in vending machines, a la carte in the cafeteria, or at campus stores, the researchers say.
